Course Curriculam :

  1. Overview of FPGA Architecture & Xilinx based EDA tool flow for FPGA prototyping ( EDA tool - Xilinx ISE, X-power, Chipscope, Platform Studio and the Embedded Development Kit (EDK) ).
  2. Comparing FPGA based prototyping to Arduino based system development.
  3. Verilog based Modelling of Combinational and Sequential Circuits.
  4. Functional Simulation of the verilog models followed by their implementation on FPGA platform ( EDA tool - Xilinx ISE including ISim simulator FPGA platform - Spartan-3 FPGA based circuit Boards )..
  5. Timing Analysis and Power Estimation.
  6. Verilog modelling and FPGA prototyping of Finite State Machines with Data Path.
  7. Verilog modelling and prototyping of I/O Modules such as LCD, ADC/DAC, Ethernet etc.
  8. Debugging using Chipscope.
  9. Xilinx embedded design flow from system design to bitstream generation (Xilinx EDK tool flow).
  10. Lab assignments.
