Guide-Prof. Pabitra Mitra, Department of Computer Science & Engineering, IIT Kharagpur

    • Part of Masters Dissertation at IIT Kharagpur

    • Proposing a model to capture the Power-law property in graphs as well as in the communications that are exchanged between people

    • Jointly modeling link structure and content to discover communities that are semantically coherent

  • Community discovery in Social Networks using Pitman-Yor process- (May 2011 - July 2011)
Guide-Mr. Tanveer Faruquie, Information Management Group, IBM India Research Lab

    • Studied Topic models to discover semantically meaningful social groupings

    • Observed that power law property is inherent in many different kind of social graphs

    • Used Pitman-Yor process to discover structurally coherent communities

  • Discovering Events from Spatio-temporal Data of Mobile Users- (July 2010 - May 2011)
Guide-Prof. Sudeshna Sarkar, Department of Computer Science & Engineering, IIT Kharagpur

    • Part of Bachelors Dissertation at IIT Kharagpur

    • Proposed and implemented efficient algorithm for event mining

  • Discovering topics and their behaviour from unstructured data- (May 2010 - July 2010)
Guide-Mr. Tanveer Faruquie, Information Management Group, IBM India Research Lab

    • Proposed a graphical model which can capture the behaviour of the topics over time

    • Used a novel inference algorithm by combining Gibbs sampling and EM algorithm

    • Evaluated the model on two datasets and compared with existing models

    • Awarded Best Poster in Poster Presentation Competition

Other Projects

  • Information Retrieval System
Guide-Prof. Niloy Ganguly, Department of Computer Science & Engineering, IIT Kharagpur

    • Crawled reviews and news articles from Techtree.com

    • Built Information Retrieval System for articles crawled

  • Android Application for sending sms from PC through Mobile Phone
Guide-Prof. Indranil Sengupta, Department of Computer Science & Engineering, IIT Kharagpur

    • Developed two applications - A JAVA based application for laptop which runs bluetooth server and an android application which allows mobile to connect with the server

    • Bluetooth server accepts connections and sends message (Recipient+Body) to the connected mobile

    • Android application connects with the server, parses the message received from server and sends SMS

  • RailMapia - A Mashup Application of Google Maps & Indian Railways
Developed during HackU organized by Yahoo!
