Since acquiring an OpenFlow switch is quite costly, I've managed to convert a cheap Raspberry Pi into an SDN-enabled switch.

Converting a PC into a Gigabit OpenFlow Switch

It more or less follows the same procedure as Raspberry Pi, except that it needs to use an older kernel.
