About Me

I am a Computer Scientist by training, who is interested in Machine Learning and Optimization. My present areas of interest include Network and Temporal Representaion Learning, and Scalable Machine Learning. I work in the applied areas of Opinion Dynamics in Online Social networks, Online adveritsing, Information Extraction and Transportaion Science. In the past, I have applied Machine Learning tools to various problems in Bioinformatics, Computer Vision, and Text Mining. Please see my publications page for more information on my research.

Prior to joining IIT Kharagpur, I was working as a Scientist in Yahoo! Labs, Bangalore . At Yahoo!, I was working on improving the Click Through Rate prediction system for the RightMedia Ad Exchange. I was also working on learning from crowdsourced labels and learning word segmentation.

I did my PhD in Computer Science, from Dept. of Computer Science & Automation , Indian Institute of Science, Bangalore. My advisor was Dr. Chiranjib Bhattacharyya, and I was a part of the Machine Learning Lab. My PhD research areas included Bioinformatics and Machine Learning. Please see my PhD thesis for more information.

I did my M.Tech. in Computer Science from I.S.I. Kolkata and B.Tech. in Civil Engineering from I.I.T. Roorkee.

I love Cars and places of natural beauty.
