Research Focus

Computer Human Interaction

We work in the intersection of theoretical computer science, machine learning, and systems to develop platforms and applications for CHI, specifically on assistive systems, and man-machine interfacing.

Sensing

Our sensing research focuses on developing innovative applications over smartphones, wearables, fixed sensing infrastructure, etc. We explore sensing modalities including locomotive, acoustic, RF, and so on.

Distributed Systems

Our works on distributed systems span over areas like cloud and edge computing, decentralized web and blockchains, geo-distributed resource management, and serverless computing.

Networking

Under networking research, we broadly work on Optimizations in Networking Protocols, Quality of Experience (QoE), Network Application Integration, and System supports for Networking.

Research Fellow (Ph.D.)

Sugandh works in the area of Sensing and HCI related to automotive systems. Her doctoral work is supported by the Prime Minister Research Fellowship. She also obtained the Australia-India Research Student Fellowship 2023, and did an internship at UNSW.

Utkalika Satpathy

Utkalika works in the area of Operating Systems, Distributed Systems, and Observability. She is currently doing an internship at IBM Research, India, and working on the project eBPF DevSecTools.
