Academics

Currently I am pursing MTech in Computer Science. In IITKgp, I have taken ten courses in two semesters in my first year apart from two practical courses and two seminars. My first semester SGPA was 9.38 and I was ranked third in a class of 43 students. My second semester SGPA was 9.71 and I was ranked second.

In Kgp I took following courses:
"Algorithm Analysis and Design" by Dr. Abhijit Das, "Advanced Graph Theory" and "Distributed Systems" by Prof. Pallab Dasgupta , "Artiicial Intelligence" and "Fault Tolerant Systems" by Prof P. P. Chakrabarty, "Foundation of Computing Science" by Prof. Sudeshna Sarkar, "Hi Performance Computing" by Prof. P.S.Dey,"Information Retrieval" by Prof Pabitra Mitra , "Intelligent Systems" by Prof Anupam Basu and "Inter Personal Communication" by Prof. V.N. Giri. My first seminar was on "Web Clustering Engine" under supervision of Prof Sudeshna Sarkar. and second seminar was on "Petri Net" under supervision of Prof. P. P. Chakraborty.

Before joining IITKgp, I did my undergraduate studies in Computer Science Department, Jadavpur Univesity. In JU, My CGPA was 8.55. I had a GATE rank (GATE is a competitive exam for getting into IITs for pursuing master degrees) of 194 among approx 45,000 students over India in 2009 which made me land in Kgp.

Among lots of undergraduate courses, the ones really enriched me are Data structure, Algorithms, Courses on linear and Abstract Algebra, C programming, Java Programming, Three Courses on Networking (Physical layer,Data link and Network layer, Internet and TCP/IP), Microprocessors, Computer Architecture, Operating Systems, Compilers, Database and Data Mining.

In 2005, I took WBJEE where I had a rank of 102 among approx 60,000 students of my state (West Bengal) which helped me pursue undergraduate degree in JU. in the same year, I appeared in Higher Secondary Examinations from RKMRC Narendrapur where I scored 91.8%.

In 2003, I took Madhyamik Examination from RKMV Narendrapur in which I scored 92.25%.
