About Me

The name Abhijnan (or Abhigyan ) (Devanagari: अभिज्ञान, Bengali: অভিজ্ঞান) (pronounced as ovignən) originates from the Sanskrit word Abhijñāna, which means someone/something enabling recollection or remembrance. So, Abhijnan literally means a symbol of recognition. If you are struggling to pronounce my name, don't bother so much. Just call me Abby .

I am currently a fourth year PhD student at Indian Institute of Technology (IIT), Kharagpur and being jointly advised by Prof. Niloy Ganguly, IIT Kharagpur and Prof. Krishna Gummadi, Max Planck Institute for Software Systems (MPI-SWS), Germany. I am a recipient of the prestigious Prime Minister's Fellowship for Doctoral Research, and Google India PhD Fellowship.

I am a member of the Social Computing Research Group at MPI-SWS, and the Complex Networks Research Group (CNeRG) at IIT Kharagpur. Prior to joining PhD Studies, I have worked in Microsoft Research India for two years (2012 - 2014). I have briefly worked in Cognizant Technology Solutions back in 2009 - 2010.
