Here is a list of some popular song tunes played on an electronic keyboard. I have absolutely no formal training of the art. I play the instrument only for my personal pleasure. Here I plan to share some of these musical moments with you.
The following tunes are in midi format generated by the keyboard Yamaha PSR 550. I am an essentially one-handed player of the instrument. So you won't find enough accompaniments. But that need not matter, perhaps.
Here is a note for Linux users. If your computer has a midi playing device, you may use kmid and several other software. If you do not have a midi device, you should use timidity. However, the quality of the instrument tones depends on what patches you use with timidity. The default patches that come with Linux are (were) horrible. Patches from Eric A Welsh and Goemon are far superior. Also look at the freepats site. I converted the midi files to WAV files by timidity using Welsh patches. Finally, the MP3 files are generated by bladeenc and lame. You can play MP3 files by kaffeine, mplayer, totem, xine or xmms.
Recently (Nov 2006) I have adopted an alternative technology to generate MP3 files from my keyboard. I digitally record the sound coming from my keyboard in a portable media player from JXD. The recorded output is a bit noisy, but still a decent copy of my keyboard's original sound. The noise-removal filter of audacity is a nice tool to improve the sound quality. Moreover, MP3 files can be generated rather easily, and I do not have to depend on the existence and quality of midi patches.
