Bio

I am a PhD Scholar at IIT Kharagpur in Computer Science and Engineering Department. My PhD work is supervised by Dr. Pralay Mitra.

My research interests mainly include Bioinformatics and Computational biology. I am currently working on the problem of Protein Interactor Discovery.

I have received M.E. degree from the Department of Computer Science Engineering, Jadavpur University and received a B.Tech. degree from Academy of Technology.

I have one year of teaching experience as teaching assistant in Computer Science Engineering Department, Jadavpur University. I have worked in Cognizant Technology Solutions as Programmer Analyst Trainee in .Net Technology. I have also worked in Tata Consultancy Services as Assistant System Engineer Trainee in Java Technology.

Research Summary

My research aims to identify new protein sequences of desirable structures and biological function and to study their interactive behaviour. Proteins interact with few other molecules to form a crystallizable complex. Our plan is to study the mechanism behind this using the knowledge of protein-protein/ligand docking algorithms.

    Ab-Initio Protein Structure Prediction using Bacterial Foraging Optimization Algorithm.

    Jadavpur University, 2014

    Predicting native 3-dimensional structure of a protein from its primary sequence of amino acids is the main work objective. Ab-initio approach has been used to solve the problem. The native structure of the protein has been searched by using Bacterial Foraging Optimization Algorithm where structures are evaluated by CHARMM energy function.

    Design of college class scheduler

    Academy of Technology, 2011

    Developed a desktop application which can automatically generate the class schedule based on the availability of faculty and lecture halls by using backtracking algorithm. Core Java and Oracle 9i database technology were used to develop it.
